Freedom Living is operated by Community Comfort which is a non-profit, charitable organization. We rely on volunteers and keep costs low by limiting advertising and relying on word of mouth advertising to maintain 100% occupancy. Our utility costs very low because our building is energy efficient with LED lighting throughout, efficient hydronic boiler heating system, water conserving shower and kitchen faucets. Our building is enrolled in the Energy Efficiency Alberta program.

We provide housing to active adults interested in a friendly, quit home. Our tenants range in age in from local health care worker practicum students through to independent active seniors.

Included in the rent are all Laundry & Utilities (Electricity, Heat, Water, Sewer, Waste removal). We have additional building complementary amenities to help reduce tenants’ other cost: Wi-Fi, Internet wired suites, Exercise Room, TV Lounge (Netflix & Bell), Coffee, Games, Lounge Room Computer, Google Home & more. Tenant’s can choose to add their own cable.

We use an online based Property Management platform, tenants digitally sign the lease and setup set up automatic pre-authorized payments from their bank account for automatic monthly withdrawal on the first day of each month. We do not accept cheque, cash or credit card. The only accepted form of payment is pre-authorized monthly payment.

We accept small dogs (under 22 lbs) and cats. A monthly pet fee applies. The lease agreement contains more information regarding our Pet Policy.

We are barrier-friendly. All suites are main floor, building ramp access. Each suite has doors widths that are accessibility friendly. Each suite has a galley kitchen and a huge bathrooms (to accommodate turning radius) and have large Walk-in Showers (no bathtub).
